Professional Fees

What my fee covers:

neurodevelopmental paediatric consultation involves a holistic approach. New patient appointments usually last around 60 -90 minutes depending on the complexity of the presentation and complex consultations may require more time. Routine child development consultations may require only 45 minutes for children under the age of 2 years.

I will take full qualitative information of your child’s neurodevelopmental profile, a history, examine, assess and an informal observation of your child during consultation. I will discuss my diagnosis/working diagnosis and explain what tests and further assessments that are required and request information/reports from other agencies (nursery or school and other professionals and follow up (if any) might be required.

With your permission, I will email a letter to you with a record of what we have discussed and send a copy to your General Practitioner (GP), so that everyone is kept fully informed when full assessment is completed.

These fees include pre reading and reasonable communication by e-mail or telephone afterward for clarification of anything I have explained during the consultation including informing you of any test results. I also endeavor to answer any (brief) query you may have by email. A comprehensive report and care plan will also be provided.

Standard First Consultation for self payers * £400.00 / per hour and £300.00 per 45 minutes

PLEASE NOTE that if you are unable to attend the appointment for any reason please telephone my secretary on 0203 282 7287 to cancel giving at least 48 WORING HOURS notice. Out of hours, a message can be left on the answer machine.

A fee of £50 will be charged if an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the planned clinic date if I am not able to re-allocate your slot. This is to cover room hire and other costs that I incur even if I do not see your child.

Insurance companies will not pay for a cancelation/nonattendance fee.

Any investigations such as blood tests, ECGs, X-rays and MRI Brain carry an additional charge, payable directly to the individual hospital.

What my fee does not cover:

My fee does not cover the cost of tests or prescriptions, for which you will be invoiced directly by the hospital.

Advice for Insured Patients

You do not need Private Healthcare insurance to see me, but if you have UK insurance you will probably need a referral from your GP.

Before we meet please discuss any appointment with your company, making sure that you have an up-to-date authorisation number. I am recognised by most health insurance companies but you should check whether your individual policy covers developmental or behavioural problems as they may well have specific exclusions, although they will often pay for an initial assessment. They do not always cover the whole cost of an appointment. Please check your policy for any excess which may be payable.

Please let my PA know in advance if your policy has excess, as you will need to settle this directly with my PA. If you fail to do so, then you may incur an additional administration fee of £25.

Terms and Conditions of Payment

Payments can be made by cheque, bank transfer, or online (using PayPal).

In the absence of prior written agreement to the contrary, payment is required on receipt of an invoice. Failure to make payment within 14 days of the due date may result in the matter being referred to a Debt Collection Agent whose charges will be added to, and payable with the invoice debt.
